Emily Morph Render for SIGGRAPH

Was pretty excited to be part of this process. Worked on it after works and even on weekends with guys at ICT. It was lots of fun and great learning experiences to get to micro level of human skin... :) Here is the published version of the final animation presented at SIGGRAPH 2015

Paul: Hi Jason et al,

These are super-impressive, congratulations!! Very excited to see how far you are able to push the realism of Emily 2.0. :-)

The thing that stands out for me at the moment is the edges of the eyelids, which seem to go a bit too dark … the front edge seems dark under the eyelash, and the edge that touches the eyeball seems like there is a dark charcoal line there as well, whereas this connection usually goes to a warmer color due to the translucency of the eyelid against the white color of the sclera. The real-time face in the Activision demos seems to get this pretty much right … http://www.fxguide.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/Stare-Into-The-Future.jpg

Awesome, folks …

Danny: I wish I could get in there and see what's going on with the hair. It shouldn't have that wild swoop off her right side. It looks like the eyebrows are textured, too. Not the hair ones. Is it possible my black and white density maps are being color corrected in this process? That could definitely alter the expected growth areas up or down, depending on the correction. Also, I was just thinking since this is such a bright light setup, I wonder if it doesn't make sense to have the skin under the hair slightly lighter, since it doesn't get exposed to the sun. It almost looks like that's what's going on but it could just be shadows. Anyway if not that might add one more little degree of realism. For next time anyway.
