running different V-Ray builds for DR on render nodes

Scenario: Maya 2014 with Vray 3.40.06 is already installed on farm nodes for DR jobs sent from local machine using Maya 2014.

Request: to have Maya 2017 with Vray nightly build installed on same farm nodes for FR jobs sent from same local machine using Maya 2017.

Solution:

step 1: install Maya 2017 and Vray nightly build on farm nodes as usual. (remember to register V-Ray render slave as a service at the end of the installation)

step 2: when going to send DR job from local machine using Maya 2017, make sure in Services, the VRayMayaSpawner 2014 is stopped. (if it's started, stop it) and start VRayMayaSpawner 2017. Make sure the VRayMayaSpawner 2017 has the admin right to access textures hosted on network drives by going into its properties > Log On > provide admin log-in info.

step 3: do step 1 & 2 for all farm nodes that you intend to use for DR.

step 4: done. Send DR job from local machine using Maya 2017. (Make sure correct nodes are enabled in your DR machine list).
